Post-mortem examinations have confirmed that a man and a woman, who were killed in so-called honour in the Degari area near Quetta, were shot multiple times.
The incident, which took place last month, gained national attention after a video showing the killings went viral on social media.
According to Dr Ayesha, police surgeon at Sandeman Hospital, the woman was shot seven times and the man nine times. The post-mortems were conducted at the Degari coal mine graveyard after their bodies were exhumed under court orders.
Police registered a case under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code — including murder, rioting, and unlawful assembly — as well as the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The victims were reportedly executed on the orders of a tribal jirga. The video showed the couple being forcibly taken from a vehicle and shot at close range in a remote desert area.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti confirmed the arrest of 11 suspects in connection with the case, with further raids underway. “None of the accused will be spared. We took action even before the video surfaced,” he said, adding that the concerned DSP has been suspended.

Bugti noted that the man and woman were not married to each other and both had five to six children.
A local tribal elder, Sherbaz Khan, has been remanded to the Crime Investigation Wing for two days.
Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court, Justice Rozi Khan Barrech, has taken notice and summoned senior provincial officials. Multiple political parties have condemned the killings and called for strict legal action.
