KP chief secretary directs officials to prevent use of govt resources for PTI Long March

The Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has directed heads of all government institutions not to allow the use of government resources during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march scheduled for September 27.

The KP Chief Secretary has issued a letter to heads of government institutions regarding the PTI’s September 27 long march, directing them to ensure that government resources are not used for any march, procession, or rally heading towards Islamabad.

The letter was issued in light of the Islamabad High Court’s orders. It states that government officials will not comply with any directive that could result in a violation of court orders.

The Chief Secretary has also instructed officials to immediately inform the Chief Secretary or the Inspector General of Police if they are pressured or forced to use government resources in violation of the directives.

The letter directs all administrative secretaries, heads of departments, commissioners, deputy commissioners, and other officials to ensure compliance with the court’s orders.

It may be recalled that PTI has announced a long march towards Islamabad for September 27. In connection with the planned protest movement, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has initiated a public mobilization campaign, including visits to Sindh and Punjab and the organization of public gatherings.
