Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Omar Ayub alleged that security forces used weapons, received for the war on terror, against PTI workers during the recent crackdown on their protest in Islamabad.
Addressing a press conference, Ayub stated, “They fired American weapons used in the war on terror, including sniper rifles like the Remington 700, caliber 308, with a speed of 741 meters per second, against workers.”
He further claimed that rapid-fire was carried out using the US Army’s M60 machine gun, emphasising that these weapons, provided as aid for counterterrorism efforts, were not meant to be used on civilians.
