Social media rumors claimed that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has removed the phrase “Husool-e-Rizq-e-Halal Ibadat Hai” (Earning a lawful livelihood is an act of worship) from newly issued currency notes.
Several posts circulating on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X alleged that the absence of the inscription blurred the distinction between halal and haram income.
However, an independent verification, as well as official confirmation, gave lie to such claims. The phrase remains intact on all banknotes from Rs10 to Rs5,000. The inscription continues to appear on the backside of each note as part of the design and security features.

A private news channel quoted a State Bank spokesperson as saying said that detailed descriptions of every note are available on the SBP’s official website, where the phrase is clearly listed among the features.

The circulation of such misleading claims highlighted the importance of fact-checking before sharing information.
Officials warned that the spread of false narratives not only confuses the public but also creates unnecessary doubts about national symbols and institutions.
