Authorities in India's Bihar are investigating a bizarre case in which an online application was submitted for a residential certificate under the name “Cat Kumar,” listed as the son of “Catty Boss” and “Catiya Devi.”
The application, which included a photograph of a cat, gave the address as Village Atimiganj, Ward 07, Post Mahadeva, Police Station Nasriganj, Pin 821310.
Nasriganj Revenue Officer Kaushal Patel lodged a police complaint on 29 July, describing the information as “clearly false and intended as a mockery” and accusing the perpetrator of misusing the platform to disrupt official work.
Police are now examining how the system accepted the application and who was behind it.

The incident follows a string of similar pranks in recent weeks.
Applications were previously filed for “Dog Babu” and “Dogesh Babu” in rural Patna and Nawada, and for “Sonalika Tractor” in East Champaran, the latter accompanied by a photograph of a Bhojpuri actress.
