Trump threatens Iranian ships as US naval blockade comes into effect

US President Donald Trump has claimed that the Iranian navy has effectively been reduced to the seabed, with only a few small vessels remaining that pose no significant threat to the United States.

In a statement posted on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said that 158 Iranian naval vessels had been destroyed, while smaller boats—referred to by Iran as “fast attack ships”—had not been targeted as they were not considered a threat.

“Iran’s Navy is laying at the bottom of the sea, completely obliterated – 158 ships. What we have not hit are their small number of, what they call, “fast attack ships,” because we did not consider them much of a threat. Warning: If any of these ships come anywhere close to our BLOCKADE, they will be immediately ELIMINATED, using the same system of kill that we use against the drug dealers on boats at Sea. It is quick and brutal. P.S. 98.2% of Drugs coming into the U.S. by Ocean or Sea have STOPPED! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DJT.”

However, he warned that if these vessels approach the US blockade, they would be destroyed in the same manner as boats used by drug traffickers.
