US President Donald Trump has expressed confidence that Saudi Arabia will soon join the Abraham Accords, a development that he described as a potential “turning point” for peace and stability in the Middle East.
In a recent interview, Trump said that Riyadh’s inclusion in the deal could make way for a broader normalization between Israel and the Arab world.
He further stated that he believes Saudi Arabia is ready to become a part of the agreement.
“When Saudi Arabia joins, everyone will join” he said. Trump also highlighted that the discussions with Arab leaders have been “very positive” and signals a growing willingness amongst regional powers to normalize ties with Israel.
The White House confirmed that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is due to visit Washington on November 18, 2025, where he will meet with President Trump to discuss bilateral relations, regional security, and the possible expansion of the Abraham Accords.
The Abraham Accords were first signed in 2020 under Trump’s government, involving the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan. All of which established diplomatic relations with Israel. Saudi Arabia, however, has so far held back from joining, often connecting its participation to the creation of a viable Palestinian state.
Experts suggest that Saudi Arabia’s participation could dramatically reshape the political and economic landscape of the Middle East, possibly encouraging other Muslim countries to follow suit.
However, challenges remain, public opinion in Saudi Arabia is largely against the normalization with Israel, especially amidst the ongoing tensions in Gaza and the unresolved Palestinian issue.
According to the analysts, President Trump views Saudi Arabia as “the missing piece” in the regional puzzle. He reiterated during his statements that joining the accords would be “a historic achievement” for both Saudi Arabia and the broader region.
While no official agreement has been confirmed yet, the anticipation surrounding the Crown Prince’s visit and Trump’s renewed diplomatic push suggests that a major geopolitical shift could be on the prospect, one that might redefine alliances and reshape peace efforts in the Middle East.
