A tense situation unfolded in Pakistani airspace when Air India flight AI147, en route from Ahmedabad to London's Gatwick Airport, received a bomb threat.

According to reports, Karachi air traffic control was swiftly alerted following the bomb threat call in Air India flight, but the aircraft's captain assured authorities that the situation was under control.

Despite the threat, the captain decided to press on, opting not to divert the flight. The aircraft, carrying passengers, entered Pakistani airspace near Tharparkar and flew over Nawabshah and Kalat before crossing into Afghanistan.

The recent incident is part of a disturbing trend, with over 90 fake bomb threats targeting Indian airlines this week, causing widespread disruptions, delays, and heightened security concerns.

At least 30 hoax threats were made on Saturday, and at least 20 more threats were made on Sunday.

All flights landed safely, but the spate of threats has resulted in planes being diverted to Canada and Germany, and fighter jets were scrambled to escort aircraft in the skies above Britain and Singapore.

Authorities are probing the source of the threats, aiming to prevent future disruptions and ensure passenger safety.

In bomb threat cases, planes are required to land in isolated bays, at least 1 kilometer away from airport facilities, to ensure passenger safety.
