Iran’s top negotiator and Speaker of Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, has said that Tehran will not accept any agreement with the United States unless it produces clear, tangible and practical outcomes.
According to Iranian state media, Qalibaf made the remarks while addressing a virtual session of parliament, where he also took his oath after being re-elected as speaker.
He stated that Iran does not place trust in the opposing side’s promises, adding that any progress in negotiations must be measured solely by “real and verifiable results.”
Qalibaf emphasised that the protection of the Iranian people’s rights remains a fundamental condition in any potential agreement.
He said Tehran would not fulfil its obligations unless those rights are fully guaranteed.
He further remarked that Iran cannot rely on statements or commitments from its adversaries and will only participate in any deal when its practical outcomes are clearly defined and enforceable.
The comments reflect Tehran’s continued hardline stance in ongoing diplomatic discussions, highlighting its insistence on enforceable guarantees before moving forward with any international agreement.
