Indian military spokespersons’ appearance on Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan’s game show sparked outrage on social media, with many questioning why the armed forces needed a quiz show platform to discuss “Operation Sindoor.”
Kaun Banega Crorepati is one of India’s most famous game shows, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan for decades. A trailer of the episode was released ahead of its scheduled airing on Indian Independence Day, August 15.
Representatives from the Army, Air Force, and Navy appeared on the show to speak about Operation Sindoor, the infamous offensive launched by India on May 7, which targeted civilians in Pakistan.
Colonel Sofia Qureshi, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, and Commander Prerna Deosthalee represented their respective forces and shared details of the failed operation.
'Comical': Asif rejects Indian air chief’s claim of downing six Pakistani aircraft
In a dramatic style, Colonel Sofia accused Pakistan of carrying out the Pahalgam attack and said, “Jawab dena to banta tha [A response was inevitable].” Wing Commander Vyomika Singh claimed the operation began at 1 a.m. and was completed within 30 minutes.
Several users on X expressed disapproval over military spokespersons using a game show stage to speak about a controversial operation, one that, according to critics, has already damaged the institution’s credibility and professionalism.
This is not the first time the Indian military has been mocked. Recently, after more than 90 days, the Indian Air Chief claimed his force had downed six Pakistani aircraft, a statement for which he offered no evidence, and which no international outlet has been able to verify.
This is just unbelievable 🤯

Has something like this ever happened before? pic.twitter.com/hs5X0uJCKp
यहां फौज KBC को यूज कर रही है?

या KBC फौज को?
(या थर्ड प्लेयर दोनों को )
I am curious to know whose idea it was?
Who approved it and how many officers objected (if any) before that? pic.twitter.com/Y61lwUHSUo
Modi is so afraid of losing the narrative that he sends 3 uniformed military officers to a private channel to explain to a Bollywood spineless star why his ‘Operation Sindoor’ was planned against Pakistan. Modi shamelessly using army for his hate politics. pic.twitter.com/TLRrACXpTX

Have you ever seen anything like this after a military operation in any serious country?

How is this even allowed for someone in service?
The current regime is shamelessly using our forces for its petty politics and hyper nationalism. pic.twitter.com/ejNKPP9BRQ
Our patriotism is being reduced to a spectacle. One day, we hear about Himanshi Narwal, wife of a Navy officer martyred in Pahalgam being approached by Bigg Boss.

Now, female defence officers are being called to KBC. 🤦🏻♀️
We were hoping that India would tell its stories of false bravery in a Bollywood movie, but here they ended it in KBC itself. 😃 #GodiMedia #RahulGandhi #OperationSindoor #Pahalgam #BunyanUlMarsoos #PakistanArmy #Shuaibrehman #شعیب_رحمن #Cafecricket #India #Baharat pic.twitter.com/iSOnKTGCZs

They won nothing in Operation Sindoor. I wish those poor ladies could win something on Amitabh Bachchan's show, Kaun Banega Crorepati! 😊🥹 https://t.co/RQP8zIhJnl

Three officers of the Armed Forces will appear on Kaun Banega Crorepati, a private entertainment show, in full uniform, explaining to a Bollywood actor the planning of a military operation.

In any serious nation with a professional military, this would be unthinkable. But this… pic.twitter.com/ZhWFpX6Bwr
