A British student being interviewed by the BBC about his A-level results turned the conversation toward Palestine, accusing the broadcaster of being “complicit” in the “genocide” in Gaza. The exchange, aired live went viral on social media.

During the interview, the student answered questions about his academic results before concluding with, “I want to say Free Palestine, end the genocide, and the BBC is complicit…”

The presenter quickly interrupted, saying, “We’re here to talk about A-level results… Gaza is a whole different subject.”

The clip sparked praise online, with many lauding the student for using one of the world’s biggest media platforms to draw attention to the plight of Palestinians and condemn Israel’s ongoing offensive in Gaza.

“We won’t stop calling you and your complicity out. And to the lad who spoke the truth… well done. Free Palestine,” one user on X wrote.

Another commented: “This lad is a legend. Good luck to him and all students, especially Pro-Palestine supporters, with their A-levels. Hope you smashed them.”

One post summed up the sentiment: “This student has more courage than most of the media class in Britain.”

The BBC has faced complaints over its coverage of Israel's war on Gaza, with many accusing the British broadcaster of undermining the suffering of Palestinians and failing to adequately report on Israeli war crimes.
