Pakistani martial artist Irfan Mehsood and his son Sufiyan Mehsood broke the Guinness World Record for the 'fastest time to climb around a person, previously held by Indian athletes.

Hailing from South Waziristan, Irfan Mehsood is the first Pakistani to attain 100 Guinness World Records. His latest record adds to his already astonishing list of achievements.

He accomplished this remarkable feat in June, breaking the previous record held by India's K Gokulnath and MV Arjun Priyan.

“The fastest time to climb around a person is 7.87 seconds and was achieved by Irfan Mehsood and Sufiyan Mehsood (both Pakistan) in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan, on 19 June 2024,” the record-holding website said.

The 33-year-old athlete excelled in various martial arts, setting records for most push-ups, squats, jumping jacks, squat thrusts, step-ups, knee strikes, elbow strikes, side jumps, and high jumps.

Mehsood lifted a 40-pound weight with his toe for 20 seconds and broke the previous world record set by Italian weightlifter Marcello Ferri.

His extraordinary accomplishments were recognised at the national level when he was awarded a presidential award in 2023.

With his exceptional abilities in martial arts, Mehsood has outdone 16 countries, including the United States, Britain, India, China, Norway, Germany, France, Finland, the Philippines, Spain, Italy, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, and Syria.

All Pakistan MMA President Babar Raja announced a senior role for Mehsood within the federation to motivate and guide younger athletes through his remarkable achievements.
