ISLAMABAD: Opposition party Tehreek Tahaffuz Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) and PTI have decided to hold nationwide protests on Friday against the incarceration of Imran Khan, inflation and other matters.

This announcement was made by PTI senior leaders through a press conference held outside the Parliament House following a parliamentary party meeting.

The press conference was attended by former Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser and PTI’s parliamentary leader Shahid Khattak.

While addressing the media, Qaiser expressed deep concern about the health of former Prime Minister and founder of PTI Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.

The former NA Speaker said that the parliamentary party had unanimously approved all decisions taken during yesterday’s summit of TTAP.

“Protests will be held across the country on Friday against inflation, hike in the price of petroleum products, the health concerns of former PM Imran Khan and his wife, the transfer of both to hospitals, the release of political prisoners and restoration of basic human rights,” he added.

Qaiser said that the party appreciated all political leaders and workers who were either in jail or facing victimisation while struggling for democracy.

He alleged that elected representatives were disqualified and politically motivated punishments were awarded to them.
