Police have arrested the main suspect in the murder case of two brothers who were beaten to death over a petty dispute of Rs30 in Lahore's Raiwind area. The accused, identified as Owais, has been handed over to the Crime Control Department (CCD) for further investigation.

According to the plaintiff’s lawyer, Ahmed Ali Awan, Owais was taken into custody earlier today.

He added that another suspect remains in police custody, while raids are underway to trace the remaining co-accused.

The incident occurred a few days ago on Lahore Road, where the victims, Wajid and Rashid, had an argument with a fruit vendor over a payment of Rs130.

The brothers attempted to settle the bill but only had Rs100 and larger currency notes, which led to a heated exchange.

The dispute quickly escalated, and the fruit vendor called his friends, who were playing cricket nearby.

The group allegedly attacked the brothers with cricket bats, leaving Rashid dead on the spot. Wajid was critically injured and later succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.

A murder case has since been registered against the suspects.
