A 15-year-old girl, reportedly distressed by her matriculation exam results, tragically took her own life in the Gandigar Payeen area of Upper Dir recently.

According to police reports, the student, named Anmol, had achieved 1010 marks out of a possible 1,200 in the SSC results recently released by the Malakand Board.

Despite this commendable score, she deemed her performance inadequate and, in a moment of emotional turmoil, ended her life with a firearm. She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel declared her deceased.

Local authorities have initiated an investigation into this tragic event.

In a related incident, another female student from Munjai Lower Dir allegedly ingested poisonous pills at her residence in an attempt to take her own life.

She too was dissatisfied with her matriculation exam results.

She was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Timergara, where her condition was reported to be critical. The Balambat police have filed a case and commenced an investigation.
