A foreign woman, Diana, who was gang-raped in Lahore, has flown to Baku aboard Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-159, accompanied by three police officers.

The 22-year-old Azerbaijani passenger, Diana Romik Qizi Baghiyeva, was escorted onto the flight by three police officers, including a female Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) from Defence.

All three police officers also travelled with the woman to Azerbaijan. Diana had remained at the airport under the supervision of the Airport Security Force (ASF).

On Friday, Diana had completed immigration clearance and boarded the aircraft. However, she later unexpectedly disembarked and refused to continue her journey to Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijani Embassy had requested that police officers accompany Diana on the flight.

The team included female ASP Bareera and DSP Qamar Abbas, along with another female police officer.

The police officers are accompanying Diana back to her country under their custody. She had previously disembarked from the aircraft after boarding on Friday and refused to return to Azerbaijan.
