As the investigation into the death of actress Humaira Asghar continues, police have reportedly discovered a white powder at multiple spots inside her flat in Karachi’s Defence Phase 6 area.

According to police sources, the powder was found stored in earthen pots at three to four different locations within the apartment. Authorities have sent samples to a laboratory for chemical analysis to determine its nature.

At this stage, the police say there appears to be no clear reason why the powder was placed around the flat. However, investigators suspect that the substance may have prevented the spread of odor from the decomposing body. The cause behind the lack of stench remains part of the inquiry.

Additionally, police have collected the actress’s clothing from the scene and plan to submit it for forensic testing.

It is worth noting that Humaira Asghar's body was recovered on July 8 from the flat, where she had been living alone for the past seven years.

According to a new report, the white powder discovered in Humaira Asghar's flat was salt, likely used as an insect repellent.

Investigators found the salt in bowls and cups placed in various locations throughout her rooms and kitchen, including in corners, under beds, and inside kitchen cabinets. The medical team has collected samples from these containers for further analysis.

Humaira's mobile phones had been active at her residential flat in Ittehad Commercial since October 28.

Humaira purchased a new mobile phone in October. She reportedly transferred data from her old devices to the new one, then deleted it from the older phones.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) is currently working to recover deleted data from three mobile phones and a tablet, which is expected to reveal more details about the case. Police are exploring all angles to determine the cause of the actress's death.
