The Peshawar police have arrested two women for allegedly sharing indecent videos on TikTok.
In a statement shared along with a video on social media, the police said that the Shahpur police station personnel, accompanied by female constables, arrested the two TikTokers for allegedly making and sharing indecent videos on TikTok.
The police's action soon drew praise from former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi.
“A commendable step by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police!” Afridi wrote on X. “With the increasing use of mobile phones and tablets by children, such immoral content can easily reach innocent minds and affect their mental health," he added.
"As a nation, we need to reflect on how to highlight the positive aspects of social media apps — education, learning and knowledge-sharing — so that the younger generation remains safe.”

In July, TikTok published its Q1 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, highlighting the platform’s efforts to maintain a safe online environment.
From January to March this year, TikTok removed 24,954,128 videos in Pakistan alone, according to the report.
The platform said its proactive removal rate in Pakistan stood at 99.4 percent, with 95.8 percent of the flagged videos taken down within 24 hours of being identified.
On a global scale, TikTok deleted 211 million videos during the same period — equivalent to around 0.9 percent of all content uploaded to the app.
The company also revealed that 30.1 percent of all removals involved content with sensitive or mature themes, which violated TikTok’s community standards.
