Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Falak Javed Khan has been taken into custody, a move the party strongly denounced on X.

According to sources, Khan was arrested late last night from Islamabad’s Sector F-10 on charges of running a provocative campaign and sharing derogatory material against state institutions.

She has been booked under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). Authorities claim he had been evading arrest for the past 16 months.

Following her detention, the Islamabad High Court has been approached for her release. A petition filed by her father, Javed Iqbal, calls for Khan to be presented before the court and for details of the registered cases to be disclosed.

It is worth noting that Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari had previously filed a petition in the Lahore High Court against Falak Javed.

She alleged that she uploaded objectionable videos of her on social media and had been involved in anti-state activities.

Bukhari also sought to place his name on the Exit Control List (ECL) and requested the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to launch an immediate inquiry and submit its findings.
