Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday arrived in Karachi on a day-long tour and visited Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's mausoleum to pay his respects to the founder of the nation.

The premier was received by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori at Jinnah International Airport in the port city.

PM Shehbaz also held a meeting with CM Murad at the Chief Minister House, where they both discussed issues faced by provincial authorities.

During the meeting, CM Murad raised concerns over the lack of support from the Centre regarding Sindh’s inclusion in new development schemes.

Giving assurance to the provincial chief, PM Shehbaz said that the federation would work with Sindh authorities "like a brother".

“We will work together like brothers, like a team in the interest of the people of Pakistan,” the PML-N President said.

On the other hand, PM Shehbaz also announced providing new 150 buses to the transport department of Sindh.

The announcement came after the Provincial Minister for Transport, Mass Transit and Excise and Taxation, Sharjeel Inam Memon, requested PM Shehbaz.

Currently, 240 buses are operating on different routes in Karachi under the Peoples Bus Service Project.

The new buses will benefit the over 17.87 million population of the port city.
