PIA bans smoking by cabin crew during duty hours

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has introduced a new policy prohibiting cabin crew members from smoking while on duty.
The airline’s new management has formally issued a directive enforcing the ban, with the aim of maintaining professional standards and ensuring compliance with operational regulations.
According to the notification, cabin crew members are no longer permitted to carry cigars, cigarettes or other tobacco products in their hand luggage or any other baggage while on duty.
The directive further states that cabin crew are prohibited from smoking during duty hours, including while staying at hotels or visiting public places as part of their official assignments.
The policy forms part of broader efforts by PIA’s management to strengthen discipline and uphold a professional image among airline staff during official duties.
