Pakistan still tracing 10 citizens held hostage in Somalia, NA told

ISLAMABAD: The government has informed the National Assembly that efforts are continuing to trace 10 Pakistani nationals reportedly being held hostage in Somalia.
Speaking on the floor of the House, Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazeer Tarar, said Pakistan remains in contact with the Somali government regarding the matter.
The minister stated that the spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Office has been in communication with his Somali counterpart as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to gather information about the missing citizens.
According to Tarar, authorities have so far been unable to establish the whereabouts of the Pakistanis who were reportedly abducted by Somali pirates.
He assured lawmakers that the Government of Pakistan is actively pursuing the case and remains engaged with Somali authorities to secure information about the hostages and facilitate their safe recovery.
The minister reiterated that diplomatic channels are being utilised to address the issue and that efforts will continue until the fate of the missing Pakistanis is determined.
