The information Minister of Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar, claimed that India has failed to provide any concrete evidence linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack.
He said that an entire year has passed with the baseless allegations on Pakistan for the attack that killed 26 people in Indian-administered part of Kashmir.
Speaking at a briefing on the anniversary of the Pahalgam attack, Tarar stated that India has not provided “solid proof or satisfactory explanation” regarding its allegations.
Furthermore, he stated that Pakistan had even offered support for a neutral and transparent investigation into the tragic incident, but India did not accept the proposal.
According to Indian reports, the attack in Pahalgam is considered one of the deadliest attacks in the region in recent years.
Based on these reports, Tarar questioned the delayed police response to the attack, including the timings of the registration of an FIR after the incident. He claimed that inconsistencies in the handling of the case have raised international concerns and queries.
Moreover, he claimed that India used the Pahalgam attack for “political purposes” and said that “baseless propaganda” was being spread without proper investigation.
Meanwhile, Tarar also talked about long-standing Pakistan’s position that Kashmir remains an international dispute. He also blamed India for presenting internal and external issues selectively.
The minister called out Indian media and institutions of amplifying unverified narratives and raised concerns about politicization of state institutions in India.
However, India has not yet responded to these remarks. The situation continues to reflect ongoing diplomatic tensions between the two nations, with both sides frequently exchanging accusations over security and terrorism-related issues.
