Islamic scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani has been recognized as the second most influential figure in the global Muslim community. The ranking comes from the Royal Institute of Strategic Studies in Jordan, which released its list of the 500 most influential Muslims.

Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, secured the top position. The list features a mix of religious leaders, political figures, and activists.

Among the top 50 are well known scholars such as Maulana Tariq Jameel, Maulana Nazar-ur-Rehman of Tablighi Jamaat, and Maulana Ilyas Qadri of Dawat-e-Islami.

Political leaders on the list include Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and Burkina Faso’s President Captain Ibrahim Traore.

Other prominent figures include Malaysian President Anwar Ibrahim, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Turkish intelligence head Ibrahim Kalin, Hamas chief Khaled Meshaal, and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

From Pakistan, notable entries include Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, media personalities Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman and Hamid Mir, religious scholar Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, former prime minister Imran Khan, Dr Omar Saif, and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai.
