The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) declared on Friday that there would be a scorching temperature wave in Karachi for the next three days, with temperatures rising above 38°C.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the temperature in Karachi could rise above 38°C on Sunday. The temperature would reach up to 36°C today (Friday), while 37°C was predicted for tomorrow.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department further explained that moderate sea breeze had become inactive for the time being, and there would be an occurrence of the northeasterly winds coming from Baluchistan.
“The chances of heatwave conditions due to moderate humidity and closure of sea breeze were minimal,” said PMD.
Though not a heatwave situation, PMD warned that temperatures could still be felt uncomfortably during the day.
The NDMA issued a heat alert for different districts of Sindh and Punjab earlier on Tuesday, predicting severe temperature conditions from April 11 onwards.
