Karachi is expected to experience intense heat on Sunday, with temperatures likely to feel between 46°C and 47°C due to high humidity and prevailing weather conditions, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

The Met Office said the actual temperature could reach around 37°C during the day. However, elevated humidity levels are expected to increase the heat index, making conditions feel significantly hotter across the city.

Officials reported that Karachi recorded a maximum temperature of 36.6°C on Saturday, as hot weather continued to affect the metropolitan area.

According to the weather department, southwesterly winds are blowing at a speed of approximately 25 kilometres per hour, while humidity stands at 63 per cent. The combination of warm temperatures and moisture in the air is contributing to the uncomfortable conditions being experienced by residents.

The Met Office has also forecast dry weather, with no rainfall expected in the city during the day.

Authorities have advised citizens to remain hydrated, minimise unnecessary outdoor activities during peak daytime hours and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Residents have also been urged to take precautionary measures to prevent heat-related illnesses as temperatures remain above seasonal averages and humid conditions persist across Karachi.
