Senator Faisal Vawda has shared his response to Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori’s recent remarks regarding MQM founder Altaf Hussain’s possible return to Karachi’s politics. He suggested that Tessori was compelled to reconsider his comments after a “software update.”
During a prime-time talk show on a private news channel, Vawda was asked about Governor Tessori’s statements made during Independence Day celebrations.
Tessori had hinted at the possible return of Altaf Hussain and even asked people if they wanted to see the “old MQM” back.
Following these remarks, speculation grew over whether Altaf Hussain might be welcomed back into mainstream politics after years of self-exile in London.
Referring to these speculations, the program host questioned Vawda, who responded, “I can tell you in connotation that temporarily the software was updated.”

Vawda, however, refrained from offering further explanation about his cryptic remarks. Earlier, Governor Tessori himself had clarified his position, stating that Altaf Hussain’s return was “out of the question.”
It is pertinent to note that Altaf Hussain, once considered a dominant political force in Karachi, has been in poor health in recent years.
On Sunday, he posted a message on X expressing disappointment that despite decades of struggle for the Mohajir community, he had failed to secure their rights.
In his message, Hussain also released party workers from their oath of loyalty, allowing them to join any political party of their choice.
