Rosan Roeslani, Indonesia’s Minister of Investment and Industry, arrived in Islamabad at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to Mofa, Roeslani was welcomed at the airport by the director general for East Asia Pacific at the Foreign Office and the Indonesian ambassador.
During his stay, the Indonesian minister is scheduled to hold talks with Senator Dar on expanding the Pakistan-Indonesia partnership in trade and investment, according to the Foreign Office.
An MoU was signed between Pakistan and Indonesia in January, establishing a Joint Trade Committee for cooperation on trade and investment issues.
This was done after both nations signed seven cooperation pacts in December that covered higher education, halal trade and certification, health, SMEs support, narcotics control, and national archives collaboration.
Moreover, senior officials from both sides have highlighted the importance of growing economic engagement in the context of Pakistan’s strategic ties with ASEAN member states, and efforts to balance trade flows as bilateral trade levels continue to grow.
