An X account posing as a woman who claimed to have left Islam and frequently criticised Muslims and their religious values has been revealed to be run by an Indian man from Patna.

The revelation came after the account, using the handle Fatima Khatun, posted “11 reasons” for leaving Islam, alleging that the religion teaches hatred toward other communities.

The account had also used derogatory language for Islamic figures and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The post went viral on X, receiving over 14 million views, 162 likes, and 28 reposts.

Fatima Khatun further claimed that the Pakistan government had lodged a complaint with X about her posts, sharing a screenshot of an email from the platform stating that it had received a complaint from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority.

As the account continued making claims and spreading anti-Islamic rhetoric, some users attempted to verify its details using cybersecurity tools.

Several X users then shared screenshots revealing that Fatima Khatun was a fake identity operated by an Indian man named Pankaj Srivastav, based in Patna, India.

The screenshots also indicated that the profile picture was not genuine; it had been taken from a random woman’s Instagram photo, digitally altered, and used to misrepresent the account’s identity.

Earlier, several pro-Israel and anti-Islamic accounts had also been exposed as being operated from India.
