IHC stays order requiring PCB to reveal players' salaries and central contracts

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has suspended an order directing the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to disclose details of the national cricket team's players' salaries, match fees, central contracts, allowances, budget and other financial benefits.

Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar issued an interim stay order on the PCB's petition, suspending the Pakistan Information Commission's July 9 decision until the next hearing.

The court also issued notices to the Pakistan Information Commission and citizen Kashif Shehzad Awan, seeking their responses.

Appearing before the court, PCB counsel Kashif Malik argued that the requested information extended beyond institutional expenditures and included players' personal financial details as well as confidential contractual information.

The court stayed implementation of the Information Commission's order and adjourned the hearing.
