Four independent candidates who won seats in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections have joined the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).
The announcement was made during their meeting with Federal Minister Aleem Khan.
The candidates who joined the party include Muhammad Dilpazir from GBA-15 Diamer-I, Aman Ali from GBA-21 Ghizer-III, Anwar Ali from GBA-23 Ghanche, and Asad Shafiq from GBA-24 Ghanche-III.
Speaking on the occasion, Dilpazir said the four independent members had formed a group and collectively decided to join the IPP. He added that they were also in contact with other independent candidates and members of the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM).
He said efforts would be made to persuade more lawmakers to join the party, expressing confidence that the IPP would emerge as the second-largest political force in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly.
