Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister, were acquitted in the Jinnah House attack case on Wednesday.

The development occurred during a session at an anti-terrorism court in Lahore, where Aleema Khan attended in person.

During the hearing, an investigation officer reported to the court that the inquiry into Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan had concluded, and both were exonerated in connection with the case.

Subsequent to the police's submission, the court dismissed the bail application filed by Aleema Khan as withdrawn.

Speaking to reporters outside the court, Aleema Khan expressed gratitude, stating that after enduring 20 months, Allah Almighty granted them success. She noted that they had gained significant insights into the legal system.

She also mentioned that she had been informed she was not implicated in the cases from May 9.

“May Almighty Allah spare even my enemies from such suffering,” she remarked.

Aleema Khan indicated that if the investigation officer had been present on the initial day, the situation might have been resolved sooner. Due to the lack of available records, they were compelled to navigate through various courts for 20 months. She criticized the negligence of the investigating officers, which resulted in many individuals facing undue hardships.
