11 Army soldiers martyred, 19 Indian-backed khawarij killed during intelligence operation in KP's Orakzai

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that an intelligence-based operation was launched in the Orakzai district of the Kohat Division, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on the night of October 7-8. The operation targeted "Indian-backed Khawarij" and resulted in 19 terrorists being killed. As per official sources, 11 Pakistani soldiers, including senior officials, were martyred during the exchange of fire.
Among the fallen heroes were Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Arif (39) and Major Tayyab Rahat (33), who led their troops with unwavering courage during the operation. Both officers, alongside nine other brave soldiers, sacrificed their lives defending the nation.
The ISPR also released the names of the nine soldiers who fought bravely and sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. The martyred included:
- Naib Subedar Azam Gul (age: 38 years, resident of District Khyber)
- Naik Adil Hussain (age: 35 years, resident of District Kurram)
- Naik Gul Ameer (age: 34 years, resident of District Tank)
- Lance Naik Sher Khan (age: 31 years, resident of District Mardan)
- Lance Naik Talish Faraz (age: 32 years, resident of District Manshera)
- Lance Naik Irshad Hussain (age: 32 years, resident of District Kurram)
- Sepoy Tufail Khan (age: 28 years, resident of District Malakand),
- Sepoy Aqib Ali (age: 23 years, resident of District Swabi),
- Sepoy Muhammad Zahid (age: 24 years, resident of District Tank).
According to military's media wing, a search operation was launched at the site to eliminate the possibility of any remaining terrorists in hiding. It reaffirmed the armed forces’ resolve to remain vigilant and safeguard Pakistan’s soil against terrorism.
he exchange of fire continued into early Tuesday, leaving several soldiers injured. The operation followed a militant assault on the Jogi check post in Marghan, Central Kurram
Senior military officials visited the site to assess the situation, and while returning, their convoy came under attack.
A Wing Commander reportedly risked his life to protect fellow soldiers, showing remarkable bravery during the assault. Despite their efforts, the militants managed to encircle the troops, resulting in heavy casualties.
