The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Turkiye, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Jordan, Libya, Maldives and Spain strongly oppose what Israel did to the Global Sumud Flotilla. The flotilla was trying to take aid to Gaza.

In a joint statement, the countries described the flotilla as a peaceful civilian attempt aimed at drawing attention to the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The ministers strongly criticized Israel’s actions against civilian vessels and humanitarian activists, calling them “blatant violations of international law and international humanitarian law.”

The statement also expressed concern for the safety of those onboard and demanded the immediate release of all detained activists, urging respect for their rights and dignity. The ministers further warned that repeated attacks on humanitarian missions reflected a disregard for freedom of navigation and international legal norms.

The people in charge of the flotilla said that Israel stopped ships in the Mediterranean Sea while they were trying to sail to Gaza with aid. Reuters said that 54 boats with over 400 activists from 39 countries were part of this mission.

Among those detained was Pakistani humanitarian worker Saad Edhi, grandson of late philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi, who was part of the aid mission heading toward Gaza, according to Pakistani media reports.
