Influencer Samiya Hijab, who was recently assaulted outside her home by her former fiance Hassan Zahid, has shared new details about the events leading up to her abduction and how she was able to make it back home.
Earlier, Samia revealed that Hassan had been pressuring her into marriage and had repeatedly threatened her when she refused. On the day of the incident, he appeared at her home, forcibly tried to take her away, and even attempted to snatch her phone.
“He had proposed marriage to me, and when I declined, he began harassing me. One day, he came to my house, rang the bell, and threatened to kill me if I refused to marry him. He snatched my phone and forced me into his car. When I tried to get it back, he harassed and attempted to kidnap me,” she said. Hassan was later arrested by Islamabad police.
Recounting her experience in a recent interview, Samiya revealed that she first met Hassan at a friend’s birthday party six months ago. Soon after, he sent a marriage proposal, which she initially ignored.
When the proposal reached her mother, she agreed to consider it but made it clear that she wanted to marry only after four to five years. According to Samia, Hassan did not accept this and began pressuring her, often resorting to violence and abuse. She claimed to have blocked nearly 28 of his numbers due to persistent harassment.
Samiya further alleged that Hassan had been harassing her for months. “Whenever I was at a friend’s gathering, he would show up, beat me, threaten to kill me, or even threaten to throw acid on me. This abusive pattern was one of the reasons I also left my father’s home, because he too used to beat my mother,” she added.
Detailing the kidnapping attempt, Samiya said Hassan had been lurking near her car since morning. “That evening, he came to my house asking for the proposal ring back. I called the police, and then I went outside to return the ring while recording a video. At that moment, he snatched my phone. When I tried to retrieve it, his friend held my hands and lifted me into the car by force. On the way, Hassan kept threatening to throw acid on me if I did not marry him. He said he was going to take me to his house,” she recalled.
According to Samiya, it was only after she received a call from the police helpline on her phone that Hassan’s friend convinced him to release her. “His friend told him there were cameras everywhere and it was too risky. That’s when Hassan decided to drop me off,” she said.
