Nida Yasir: I refused to host morning show twice but was persuaded to continue

Renowned morning show host Nida Yasir has revealed that she expressed her desire to step down from hosting the show twice but was persuaded by the TV management to continue.

Nida Yasir has been hosting the morning show for over a decade. Many clips from her show have gone viral on social media, upon which the host also faced criticism.

On a recent podcast with Shaista Lodhi, Nida Yasir opened up about her career as a morning show host among other things.

She confessed that she also suffered from depression due to different issues, not specifically the morning show. However, she has now found ways to overcome depression but still, she gets troubled by various issues, after all, she is a human being.

Nida Yasir revealed that she refused to host the morning show twice and even resigned but the TV channel called her back and did not let her go. She said that as soon as she resigned, showbiz personalities who keep criticising her approached the channel to host the morning show.

“I host morning shows for the general public and especially women, not for showbiz personalities,” she went on.

The Nadaniyan actor said that many personalities also abused her on the shooting sets of dramas, but surprisingly, the personalities who used to abuse her, requested the channel to allow them to host the morning show.

Nida Yasir acknowledged making mistakes during her two-and-a-half-hour live morning show, which is aired five days a week. She likened these errors to common slip-ups in real life, where people might say things they shouldn't in social gatherings with relatives or friends.

Nida Yasir’s show has drawn mixed reactions during a 16-year run. The show has garnered a devoted viewership, particularly among housewives who watch it with great enthusiasm.
