Lollywood's iconic actress, Reema Khan, underscored the significance of personally nurturing a child in their early stages instead of relying on nannies under societal pressure or due to personal inertia.

Emphasising the profound role of family values in her life, Reema remains steadfast in never compromising on them. She highlighted the strong bond of trust and respectability she shares with her parents and husband, expressing her desire to instill these values in her son.

The 'Pride of Performance' award winner revealed in a podcast that following the birth of her child, she received advice to seek help from a maid for his upbringing.

Khan said that not only other people but also her sisters and mother asked her to hire a maid to raise her son but she didn’t pay heed to the advice.

"For the first five years, I never left my child's side, not even for a moment," shared Reema.

She expressed, “I observed that, even with one or two children, some people immediately hire a nanny, even when it's unnecessary, and at times, we make ourselves lackadaisical.”

The veteran actress reflected on the past, noting that women used to collectively raise five or six children, including her mother who cared for the whole family, including herself.

She questioned the need to hire a maid to raise her child when those before her managed everything without assistance. She observed, "If today's women idealise them and do it all on their own without seeking help, they won't find anything difficult.”

The 'Love Mein Ghum' star emphasised nurturing the bond with children, highlighting that when they witness their mother sacrificing for them, it creates a foundation for them to reciprocate in future.

“Rather than resorting to sending parents to old age homes or hiring a nurse, fostering this connection encourages children to take care of their parents in future,” she maintained.

Reema Khan tied the knot with Pakistani-American, Dr Tariq in 2011 and in 2015, the duo welcomed a son.

After getting married, she took a prolonged break from the entertainment scene, stepping away from screens and events. Over time, she gradually made a comeback, participating in TV programs and events.
