Former Assistant Commissioner of North Nazimabad, Hazim Bangwar, who drew attention on social media for his distinctive appearance at the recent Hum Style Awards, has responded to his critics, urging people to distinguish between his private and professional life.

The bureaucrat, known for his unique fashion choices, recently took to Instagram to address the criticism he received for wearing a black gothic-style outfit paired with a silver metallic chain at HSA.

"I think that most people have forgotten that I am human and like any other human, I, too, should be allowed to live my private life in peace," he stated.

“I have left a life of luxury behind to serve my public . The price of which I pay everyday by being criticized, trolled, bullied and threatened for simply dressing well,” he continued.

Hazim asserted that he always conducts himself with respect and dignity in his professional capacity and dresses appropriately.

The fashion-forward civil servant pointed out the double standard, stating that no officer or doctor wears their gowns or uniforms outside their office, yet people expect him to maintain a professional appearance at all times.

“My only aim is to serve my public as I have, and I hope to do that in peace,” he concluded.

Amidst online trolling of Hazim's attire at the awards, former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry criticized his choice, urging him to respect the office he represents.

Hazim, who made news headlines after his appointment as AC North Nazimabad in January 2023, also possesses a keen interest in fashion and music.

He has collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists such as Jessie J, Future, Ciara, and Nicki Minaj, showcasing his talent on a global stage.

His first solo release, 'Haram' garnered international praise in countries like South Korea, Hungary, Egypt, and India.

In 2021, the former AC mesmerised audiences with his heartfelt Urdu track 'Tujhko Bhulaya,' drawing over 75,000 views on YouTube.

Hazim is a multifaceted individual actively involved in community welfare programs and philanthropic activities. He is associated with several human and animal rights NGOs in Pakistan and abroad, focusing his efforts on education, environmental conservation, animal welfare, and emergency response programs.
