The Cabinet Committee on Energy has given its approval for commencing work on an extensive eighty-kilometer segment of the Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline within the borders of Pakistan.

This important decision was reached during a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy held today in Islamabad, underscoring the government's commitment to bolstering the nation's energy infrastructure.

The approval aligns with the recommendations put forth by the Ministerial Oversight Committee for the Pak-Iran Project, a committee established by the Prime Minister in September of the preceding year.

This committee strongly advocated for the initiation of pipeline construction within Pakistan as a pivotal first phase of the project.

Responsible for the execution of this ambitious endeavor is the Inter State Gas Systems Pvt Ltd., with funding sourced from the Gas Infrastructure Development Cess.

The project's realization holds the promise of advancing Pakistan's energy security, a crucial imperative for sustained economic growth and industrial development.

Moreover, the implementation of the Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline project is poised to invigorate economic activity particularly in the province of Balochistan, fostering job creation and regional prosperity.

Its ripple effects are anticipated to extend across the entire nation, contributing significantly to the overall economic advancement and resilience of Pakistan.
