The man recognised as the world's tallest person, Sultan Kosen of Turkey, celebrated his 41st birthday on December 10.

To mark his special day, Guinness World Records shared a video from the past when he met the world's shortest man, Chandra Bahadur Dangi of Nepal, in London.

The video shows the two men posing for pictures and shaking hands awkwardly.

Sultan Kosen, measuring 8 feet, 3 inches, is a part-time farmer. He also holds the record for the largest hand on a living person. His hand measures 11.2 inches from the wrist to the tip of his middle finger and became the tallest living man in 2009 due to a condition called pituitary gigantism.

On Instagram, GWR wished Mr Kosen a very happy birthday. "A very happy birthday to the tallest living man @sultankosen47."

"In 2014, Sultan (251 cm/8 ft 2.8 in) met the shortest man ever, Chandra Dangi on Guinness World Records Day. They were joined by GWR's Editor-in-Chief, Craig Glenday," read the caption.

Notably, in 2014, he met Chandra Bahadur Dangi, who, at 251 centimeters and weighing just 32 pounds, was the shortest adult human-verified by Guinness World Records until his passing in 2015 at the age of 75.
