US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that the fragile truce between Israel and Hamas, which took effect in Gaza on Friday, would hold.
Speaking to reporters, he said that both sides had become tired of the prolonged conflict.
“I think it’ll hold — they’re all tired of fighting,” Trump said, voicing optimism about the ceasefire’s durability.
The president confirmed plans to travel to Israel and Egypt over the weekend, where he said he would meet “a lot of leaders” to discuss Gaza’s reconstruction and the region’s next steps.

The talks are expected to take place in Cairo on Monday, following his address to the Israeli parliament earlier the same day.
Trump also suggested the ceasefire could mark a broader turning point for regional stability. “There are still a few small hot spots,” he said, but added that such flare-ups would be “very easy to put out.”
