Pakistan tops list of Umrah pilgrims as Saudi Arabia records 22.5% increase in visitors

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said the number of Umrah pilgrims has increased by 22.5%, with Pakistan contributing the largest number of visitors so far this season.

The Ministry stated that the 2026–27 Umrah season officially began on 15 Dhul Hijjah 1448 AH, immediately after the Hajj pilgrimage. Between the start of the season and 29 Muharram, more than 900,000 pilgrims performed Umrah within the first six weeks.

Pakistan accounted for the highest number of Umrah pilgrims, with around 200,000 visitors travelling to Saudi Arabia. Indonesia ranked second with 170,000 pilgrims, while Iraq followed with approximately 130,000 visitors.

Saudi Arabia began issuing Umrah visas for the current season on 31 May 2026.

The final date for Umrah visa issuance is 1 Shawwal 1448 AH (9 March 2027). Pilgrims must enter Saudi Arabia no later than 15 Shawwal 1448 AH (23 March 2027).

The last permitted departure date for Umrah pilgrims from Saudi Arabia is 30 Shawwal 1448 AH (7 April 2027).

Saudi authorities have advised all pilgrims to complete their registration and ensure their travel documents are in order well before departure to avoid any delays or difficulties during their Umrah journey.
