India’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan has said that Operation Sindoor is continuing, stressing that the country’s armed forces must maintain a very high level of preparedness.
Speaking at a defence seminar in New Delhi, General Chauhan said that modern military personnel need to be well-versed in both ‘shastra’ (warfare) and ‘shaastra’ (knowledge).
He called on today’s soldiers to master all three levels of warfare, tactical, operational and strategic, across all domains.
“We are witnessing an unprecedented pace, driven by the relentless march of technology,” he said.

General Chauhan also highlighted what he termed a “third revolution in military warfare”, a new era he has labelled “convergence warfare”.
“This form of warfare merges kinetic and non-kinetic means, combining elements of first- and second-generation warfare with the third,” he explained. “It brings together tactical, operational and strategic dimensions into a unified, integrated approach.”
