The killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has triggered a wave of speculation as the manhunt continues for his shooter. Public debate and conspiracy theories intensified after a book about his assassination appeared online just a day before the incident, leaving many shocked and puzzled.
The book, titled The Shooting of Charlie Kirk: A Comprehensive Account of the Utah Valley University Attack, the Aftermath, and America’s Response by Anastasia J Casey, was listed for sale on Amazon on September 9 for $6.99. It was later removed from the platform, but not before several people claimed to have ordered it.
A number of books that appeared to be artificially generated have been listed for sale on Amazon. The content of these books includes details about Charlie Kirk's assassination and the subsequent events, with some even discussing his personal life and political views.
Charlie Kirk, 31, a prominent far-right political activist and close ally of US President Donald Trump, was assassinated while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10.
His death came after an online petition had gathered thousands of signatures urging the university to cancel his appearance. President Trump mourned his death, calling it a major loss.
Social media users circulated an archive link of the book, which was only 69 pages long. The book’s description reportedly outlined details of the Utah Valley University shooting, including the exact location and circumstances of the assassination.

“Through detailed reporting, firsthand testimonies, and careful analysis, Charlie Kirk and the Utah Valley University Shooting explores the event from every angle: the chaos on campus, the courageous first responders, and the experiences of those directly affected,” the summary read.
The book further delved into the wider implications of Kirk’s killing for US politics and society, while also offering insights into his life.
A reader's post on X also clarified that Amazon's Kindle publishing platform allows authors to set a publication date that is different from the submission date. This means the author may have intentionally or unintentionally tampered with the book's publication date.
The mysterious author, Anastasia J Casey, has also raised questions. No social media profiles, prior publications, or public records about the writer have been found, prompting speculation that the book may have been AI-generated rather than authored by a human.
As debate continues, conflicting opinions about Kirk have resurfaced online. While many mourn his death, others revisited his controversial remarks on several issues, particularly his past comments on Palestine, which had drawn intense criticism.

How was a Kirk shooting book for sale the day before Charlie was shot on Amazon? It is still up, but you can’t purchase the book.
