King Charles III quoted a saying attributed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during a state banquet at Windsor Castle in honor of Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, highlighting Oman’s longstanding tradition of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

Addressing approximately 160 guests, the British monarch delivered part of his speech in Arabic and cited a Hadith attributed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): “If you were to come to the people of Oman, they would have neither reviled you nor beaten you.”

King Charles presented the quotation as a reflection of the Omani people's character and their historic reputation for tolerance.

He also praised Oman’s diplomatic role in promoting dialogue and easing tensions across the Middle East

The banquet was part of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s three-day state visit to the United Kingdom, marking the first visit by an Omani sultan to Britain in more than four decades.

During his address, King Charles also highlighted the longstanding historical, diplomatic, and military relations between the United Kingdom and Oman. He commended Muscat’s policy of “constructive neutrality” and its role as a diplomatic intermediary in regional disputes.

The British monarch particularly acknowledged Oman’s efforts to reduce tensions between the United States and Iran, as well as its commitment to maintaining freedom of navigation through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
