Iran has warned that any US ground invasion would trigger attacks on American military bases and vessels across the region, as tensions between Tehran and Washington remain high.
Ali Fadavi, head of the advisory group to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander-in-chief, issued the warning during an appearance on Iranian state television.
“If the Americans launch a ground attack,” Fadavi said, Iran would target locations linked to the United States, including American bases and vessels.
He argued that Washington understands military pressure through attacks on its warships and bases.
Fadavi also claimed Iran’s military production capacity currently exceeds the rate at which its equipment is being used, saying the country’s capabilities have grown compared with previous conflicts.
Addressing the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, he said Iran and Oman should establish and enforce rules governing the waterway, adding that such rules had already been prepared and were being implemented.
Fadavi also said Iran had not attacked Muslim countries directly, arguing that its strikes had instead targeted US military bases located in those countries.
