Iran has reopened its airspace after a temporary suspension imposed amid escalating tensions with the United States.

Iranian authorities had earlier shut the country’s airspace to all flights, issuing an advisory that allowed only international services to operate under special permission. According to foreign media reports, the restriction remained in place for around five hours before flight operations were gradually restored.

The temporary closure disrupted air traffic in the region and was attributed to the ongoing strain between Washington and Tehran. Aviation sources said several flights were affected during the suspension period.

Meanwhile, a German airline has announced the suspension of night-time flights to Israel until 19 January, citing security concerns linked to the current regional situation.

Separately, the United States has already barred its commercial airlines from using Iranian airspace, a measure that remains in effect.
