At least five were killed and 13 injured as armed men attacked a judicial complex in Iran's Zahedan city, the capital of Sistan-Baluchestan, local media reported.

According to Iranian sources, the attack appeared to be a planned operation by the terrorists, in which several armed individuals targeted the court building, resulting in fatalities and injuries.

Arab media reported that the assailants entered the judges' chambers and opened fire.

The victims included several judiciary members and court staff, according to the Baluch human rights group HAALVSH.

The armed group Jaish al-Adl has claimed responsibility for the attack, according to Iran’s Mehr News Agency.

Meanwhile, another violent incident was reported in the western part of the country. A base belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was attacked in the village of Oghlan, near the city of Sardasht in West Azerbaijan Province. One officer was reportedly martyred, and another was injured.

Mehr News reported that the assault was carried out by a terrorist group targeting the military facility in the village.

Colonel Shakir, a spokesman for the West Azerbaijan Martyrs’ Base of the IRGC, stated that the attackers opened fire indiscriminately. However, full details of the incident have yet to be disclosed. Authorities have not ruled out the involvement of a Kurdish separatist group, which has been active in similar operations in the region.
