Yemen’s Houthi group on Monday said it had carried out three military operations against targets in Saudi Arabia, including airports, an oil facility and military positions.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the operations were conducted using ballistic and cruise missiles as well as drones. He made the claims in a statement posted on X.

According to Saree, the first attack targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. He claimed the strike hit its target and disrupted air traffic at the airport.

The group said another operation targeted a refinery operated by Saudi state oil company Aramco in Rabigh, located in the Mecca region. Saree claimed the attack resulted in a fire at the facility.

The third operation allegedly targeted Abha Airport, the Khamis Mushait military base and Akfa camp in the Asir region. Saree also claimed attacks on what he called “sensitive sites” in Najran and Jazan.

Saree said the operations were carried out in retaliation for 60 Saudi airstrikes and missile attacks on Sanaa and several Yemeni provinces over the previous 24 hours. He claimed the total number of such attacks since the latest escalation began had reached 1,576.

The Houthi spokesman further warned international airlines against operating through Saudi airspace, saying it had entered the group’s area of operations. He said the warning did not apply to airspace over Mecca and Medina.
