China’s foreign ministry called for an immediate ceasefire after military strikes were launched by the US and Israel against Iran.
A spokesperson from China stated that Beijing is “highly concerned” about the attacks and urged all sides to avoid further escalation. China has also advised to resume dialogue, and pursue negotiation as a way to restore peace and stability in the region.
Moreover, China emphasized that Iran’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity must be respected.
In response to the deteriorating security situation, China’s embassy in Israel issued travel advice urging Chinese citizens to move to safer areas or exit the country via the Taba crossing to Egypt.
China’s foreign ministry similarly recommended that its nationals in Iran depart as soon as possible, listing overland routes through neighboring countries.
According to China’s state-run media, the strikes were “brazen aggression” and a violation of international norms. Beijing’s stance reflects broader concerns among global powers that the conflict could spiral into a wider regional war if diplomatic channels are not revived.
